What Do I Do If I Miss A Dose Of Ozempic

If you miss your dose of Ozempic , you can administer it as soon as possible within 3 days after the missed dose. After this, you can go back to your regular dosing schedule of once per week.

If there are less than 3 days until your next scheduled dose, donât take your missed dose. Take your next scheduled weekly dose and return back to your regularly scheduled weekly dose!

Choose an administration site on your stomach , thigh, or upper arm. After uncapping the pen place the pen tip against your skin. Now, you are ready to press the injection button. Keep the button pressed down for 5-10 seconds to ensure complete dose delivery. Each week use a different injection site or rotate within that side. Each pen only contains four doses. Once empty, dispose the pen in a sharps container. New pens should be stored in a refrigerator, away from light in the original box.

Who Can Be Prescribed Semaglutide Or Ozempic

Ozempic® is human glucagon-like peptide-1 analogue produced by recombinant DNA technology. The tradename is Ozempic®, manufactured by Novo Nordisk and is available in the following doses: 0.25, 0.5 and 1milligram prefilled pens.

Ozempic® is indicated for the treatment of adults with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise either on its own when metformin cannot be taken for any reason or in combination with other medications for type 2 diabetes. Ozempic® is to be administered once weekly at any time of the day, with or without meals. Ozempic® is to be injected subcutaneously in the abdomen, in the thigh or in the upper arm.

Ozempic® should not be administered intravenously or intramuscularly.

When Ozempic® is added to existing therapy of sulfonylurea or insulin, a reduction in the dose of sulfonylurea or insulin should be considered to reduce the risk of hypoglycaemia) low blood glucose)

The starting dose is 0.25 mg Semaglutide once weekly. After 4 weeks the dose should be increased to 0.5 mg once weekly. After at least 4 weeks with a dose of 0.5 mg once weekly, the dose can be increased to 1 mg once weekly to further improve glycaemic control
